Modball Mayhem!

UCOR will be hosting its first charity event on Saturday 21st May. Using a unique racing format, competitors will be challenged to complete as many laps as possible over 4 x 25 minute sessions with minimal contact and pit stops permitted for repairs and battery changes.

Speed controllers can be either electronic or mechanical meaning it is possible to race either a banger chassis or saloon with the bumpers removed. There will be no other formulas running on the day to give competitors the opportunity to concentrate on keeping one car running  and batteries charged for the meeting and points will not be counted toward our annual table.

Body shells must be ABS plastic with windows removed and represent a supercar from Kamtec’s GT12 range:
Ascari GT12
Aston Martin
Ford GT40
Nissan Skyline
Porsche GT3
Type F (Ferrari)
Type P (Porsche)

Batteries must be 4 cell NiMh and only brushed motors (20 turn upwards) from our approved list. Batteries can be changed mid race and other car repairs are also allowed (except dd). Only one chassis can be used for the meeting so it is not possible to swap mid race

Entry fee for the meeting is £6 (£5 under 16’s) which includes a Modball sticker and entry into the sweepstake to guess the amount of laps scored by the winner over 100 minutes. All proceeds from the meeting will go to the Make A Wish and Modball Foundation Charities plus money raised from a raffle (all donations welcome). 2014 Season Roundup

Our 2014 season at UCOR has been a continual success of high points with our regular driver base growing every meeting and some spectacular action in every race. We run 22 meetings in 2014 and over seventy drivers raced throughout the season, notably our RCBWS Speed Weekend which saw many visitors from across the country bringing the highest level of driving skills and car preparation. There were many other highlights including the spectacular UCOR vs BRCR War of the Westcountry, our Cornish Championship series, Caravan Chaos and Big Van Bangers. We also introduced new formulas for Stock Cars and Rookie Rods catering for drivers both at the pinnacle of RC oval racing and also starting out in the sport.
The quality of racing has improved vastly over the year with some very entertaining and close finishes, often with 3 or four drivers finishing with a second of each other and our leader board for the season has been a focus for every competitor with hard fought battles at every level of the table providing drama for everyone right to the end of the year. Congratulations go to #153 Mike Stead for finishing at the top of the points tables in Bangers, SaloonStox and Stock Cars by a considerable margin as well as providing technical help to anyone who asked, running the track shop, organising the race heats and also remaining Cornish Champion in the Saloonstox for another year. Congratulations also go to visiting driver #507 Paul Ashby for winning the Bangers Cornish Championship and proudly displaying the St. Piran flag on his roof for the rest of the season and at the world finals. A very special mention also to young Bradley Whitford #27  for finishing at the top of our first rookie rod points table and will be a talent to watch for the 2015 season. Full race results can be seen at
Many thanks to everyone that got involved, raced and made this a special year for the club. Thanks also to the staff of Lostwithiel Community Centre for their hospitality and providing a home for the club in the future.
Best wishes for the 2015 racing season from United Cornish Oval Racing!

UCOR has a new home

After the success of our Speed Weekend being run at the larger venue of Lostwithiel Community Centre we have agreed to use the venue as United Cornish Oval Racings new home. The hall has ample parking, track storage and a cafe supplying cakes and hot food catering for the needs of visiting racers. We have had to slightly alter fixtures for the rest of the season to accommodate the other bookings but feel that it is worth it for the extra space the hall gives us. Please check our fixtures page for revised dates and start times and our Find Us page for directions to the new venue.
